BCP has consolidated its position as one of the UK 's leading manufacturers of confectionery packaging. The formation of a strategic relationship with German counterpart ABS Packmittel led on from BCP's acquisition of the former Paterson's Packaging busines, following its liquidation in 2004.
The partnership reflects the growth aspirations of both companies, providing BCP with greater capacity to meet market demand and ABS with a robust and credible partner to grow their interest in the UK and Ireland.
Between them, the Companies possess in excess of 40 years' combined experience in the art of cushion pad manufacture. Papers can be combined to produce cushion pads from:

- In-line and off-line die-cutting
GLASSINE - BCP is one of the few remaining corrugated converters of glassine in the UK offering a choice of single- and double-faced materials, colours and flute options of b, e and wavey.
BCP PATERSONS was formed in February 2004 when BCP took over the long-established Patersons Packaging Ltd. This new business offered a more comprehensive range of lightweight packaging solutions across confectionery, biscuit and bakery markets. Customers include Thorntons, Nestle, Northern Foods and Jacobs.
BCP Patersons, situated in Glasgow, has the BRC/IOP Accreditation.
ABS PACKMITTEL was founded in 1987, specifically to produce cushion pads, by three partners with extensive previous experience in the confectionery packaging market. The company invested in a flexo press in 1999 and is possibly the only dedicated producer of cushion pads in Northern Europe, working with companies such as Kraft and Masterfoods.
All orders are handled by BCP's sales office in Blackburn, production is split between the two plants depending on customers' requirements.
Bakery supplies
Greaseproof - fluted greaseproof provides an innovative packaging solution for insulated food-on-the-go products and for microwaveable and ovenable snack products. BCP have supplied this solution for hot sandwiches and snacks within the airline and vending markets. Other current applications for the bakery supplies market include single embossed sheets for biscuits and cake packaging and greaseproof-lined baking trays.
